Congratulations to the students at St. Michael School in Canton on the amazing job they did with their OC Federal Credit Union Challenge Grant. The 6th graders hosted a Dinner Theatre event that sold out, with 250 tickets sold within the St. Michael community. These attendees were not only treated to a several course meal, but also a Christmas play presented by these students. Throughout the evening, there were many tables of cookies, baked goods, and desserts. It was a bake challenge among the students to see whose table could sell the most.
How edifying to see that these students took on the work of memorizing their parts to present this play, as well as do the work of selling baked goods at their respective tables throughout the night and do the serving of the meal. They did a great job of involving the entire St. Michael community and raised $3,912 for the “Make-A-Wish” Foundation, a charity close to their hearts as the school has had 2 students receive a wish in the past. The bake sale alone brought in approximately $2,000! A formal check presentation will come in 2019. Congratulations and well done St. Michael School!
