OC Federal Credit Union expanded its Catholic School Grant Program in 2019 and awarded $73,000 to thirty-nine different OC Federal Credit Union member schools throughout the Diocese of Cleveland, Cincinnati, Steubenville, and Youngstown.
Stark County Catholic Schools in Canton and Metro Catholic School in Cleveland were selected for the top two grant awards of $10,000. Four schools were selected for grants in the amount of $5,000: St. Jude Catholic School in Elyria, DePaul Cristo Rey High School in Cincinnati, Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, and St. Mary School in Chardon. A total of thirty-three other schools received grants in the amount of $1,000.
Funding for the Catholic School Grant Program was increased in 2018 from $68,000 to $73,000. The grant funding supported a variety of initiatives, including significant upgrades in technology, a summer reading intervention program, sensory rooms, a broadcast studio, STEM & STREAM curriculum additions, and other capital improvement projects.
